Meet Broc Ellinger

Broc Ellinger is an American photographer, artist and founder of BE Gallery.

For more than a decade, Ellinger has built a body of work rooted in people, place and the moments that exist between them. Beginning in documentary and street photography, his work has evolved into large-scale fine art, limited collector editions and exhibition based projects while remaining grounded in the same instinct: observe first, photograph honestly, and preserve moments that may never exist again.

His approach is intentionally fluid. Rather than being defined by a single subject, style or place, Ellinger uses the camera as a way of moving through and understanding the world. He travels to experience places firsthand learning about their people, landscapes, cultures and everyday life allowing the work to emerge from whatever crosses his path.

A quiet street, an unfamiliar face, a landscape thousands of miles from home, a baseball game, or an iconic moment in sports can all belong to the same body of work. The subject changes. The approach does not. Ellinger photographs from a photojournalistic perspective, responding to what is actually happening in front of him and transforming those observations into artwork.

His work has taken him across the United States and around the world, including a recent journey through 11 countries and 23 cities, photographing everything from city streets and remote communities to the Arctic landscapes of Northern Norway. Working with a deliberately stripped down approach, Ellinger continues to document life as he encounters it real people, real places and unrepeatable moments.

In 2025, Ellinger founded BE Gallery in Santa Barbara, California, creating a physical space for his work while bringing together artists, collectors and the surrounding community. The gallery became another extension of the larger idea behind BE: that art can connect people who might otherwise never cross paths.

Ellinger’s work has entered private, hospitality, corporate and institutional collections, with clients and collectors ranging from major hotels including Ritz Carlton, Kaiser Permanente and organizations to professional athletes, including Clayton Kershaw. His photographs have been produced as intimate archival prints as well as monumental, large-scale works created for significant spaces and private collections.

Today, BE is evolving beyond a traditional gallery. It represents Ellinger’s photography, collectible editions, exhibitions, collaborations and an ongoing effort to discover new places, work with other creative voices and bring art directly to people around the world.

At its core, Ellinger’s work is less about a particular genre of photography and more about the human experience our connection to people, places, memory and the moments we recognize in one another. Whether that moment happens on a street halfway around the world or inside a stadium as history unfolds, the philosophy remains remarkably simple:
